A Hybrid Stereogram
In the decade in which I have been creating stereograms, I like to think I have learned a thing or two. Initially there was the hidden image stereogram in which a 3D object lay hidden until the viewer's eyes made
the image pop out. I added to this floating visible objects which often times gave a hint as to the hidden 3D object. Or sometimes I created complex images that just used floating objects with different spacing
that gave the impression of depth. A few years ago I added Mapped Image Stereograms to my repertoire. These mapped images used repeating visible objects to create the 3D depth as opposed to a random pattern. And
only recently have I started mixing all these methods together. This thread from the TalkGraphics Xara Gallery is a good example of this combination of stereogram types.
To the Xara users out there who share my passion for these magical images, I have prepared a tutorial on how to create a hidden image, mapped image, and floating image stereogram. We'll do all the hard work in
Xara Xtreme and then use Stereogram Generator from IndaSoftware's Stereographic Suite to create the actual stereograms. You can download
a free trial version here. I strongly encourage you to purchase the software if you like the product because this is the only way this excellent product will continue to develop.

perfectly with Xara Web Designer. Xara makes this site possible so it would be nice if you just
went to the page and had a look see. Thanks.
